His work has consistently inspired the industry and set new benchmarks. In 1997, Asim rose to prominence with the hit music video Sayyonee for the popular band Junoon. The video topped charts across South Asia and the Middle East, including Channel V and MTV, and earned multiple award nominations.
In 2004, Asim won the Lux Style Award for Best Music Video Director for Mahi Ve, a song by Faakhir. In 2013, he received critical acclaim for directing the television film Behadd, which won the Hum Award for Best Television Film.
